Job Summary



The Centre Supervisor, WCS OSC Licensed Programs serves the mission of the YMCA of Lethbridge by providing oversight, planning, and continued development of the CVR Licensed Programs team. The main goals of this position are:

1. Provide leadership to the WCS Child Care team.

2. Ensure effective implementation of team initiatives, services, and programs.

3. Complete administrative tasks to support the functions of the team.

4. Salary $40,000 - 45,000 Annual

5. Full time, temporary fixed term contract, 14 months

Nature & Scope



The Centre Supervisor, WCS OSC Licensed Programs will be responsible for supporting the Centre Director in the direction and oversight of the CVR Licensed Programs team. The major responsibilities of this position are, but not limited to:

Leadership and Strategic Planning



Exemplify the YMCA of Lethbridge's Core Values of caring, honesty, inclusiveness, respect, and responsibility.

Promote a positive, inclusive work environment, responding to general inquiries and resolving issues in a timely manner and in accordance with Association policies and guidelines.

Be a YMCA ambassador by engaging in and promoting practices and frameworks which ensure diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.

Demonstrate a commitment to health and safety, incident management and emergency response.

Effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders, providing detailed, specialized information, explanations, and interpretations requiring significant judgement and tact.

Organizational and Department Management



Support in the supervision of WCS Licensed Programs early childhood educators, volunteers, and practicum students.

Contribute to the completion of administrative duties within WCS Licensed Programs including scheduling and payroll tracking of ECE's and volunteers.

Carry out tasks requiring significant concentration and the need to assess options or evaluate past practices using analytical methods and processes occasionally.

Model best practices, upholding high standards for excellence in team implementations.

Work on somewhat diversified tasks to make progress towards assigned objectives.

Enroll children into Child Care, complete parent orientation, and maintain up-to-date child records in accordance with Alberta Licensing Regulations.

Provide exceptional quality of programs and services, responding to participant needs and supporting in-ratio where required.

Model appropriate Child Care interactions, program planning, and documentation.

Ensure team adherence to Alberta Licensing regulations and YMCA Playing to Learn and A Place to Connect Curriculum.

Ensure transportation procedures are adhered to.

Develop and ensure team adherence to preventative maintenance plans for Child Care equipment.

Attend all required YMCA trainings and recertifications.

Financial Management and Philanthropic Involvement



Model the Association's dedication to philanthropy.

Participate in Fund Development Initiatives to further the impact of team efforts.

Adhere to the team's annual budget, managing expenses within your area and ensuring proper coding and documentation is provided.

External Relations and Advocacy



Foster relationships in the community by supporting partnership development where appropriate and acting as an ambassador for the Association's core programs.

Role model team initiatives and projects within the Association.

Follow policies regarding confidentiality to safeguard data and information and handle sensitive information with a strong sense of ethics and confidentiality, in addition to other Association policies and guidelines.

Participate in external growth opportunities in alignment with team goals.

Physical/Special Demands



This position may include the ability to lift 20 kg

Qualifications and Experience



Diploma in Early Childhood Education (Level 3) or equivalent is required

Minimum of 1+ years of practical or lived experience is required

Supervisory experience is required

Current Intermediate First Aid and CPR Level C certifications are required

Experience working within a Child Care program is considered an asset

Experience developing and managing team budgets is considered an asset

Previous non-profit experience is considered an asset

Evidence of an acceptable Police Information Check and Child Intervention Check are required

Three professional references are required
