The Centre Manager will be responsible for the strategic development and operation of programs and services at the Bettie Allard YMCA. They may also be responsible for integrated management and delivery of a specific program area (aquatics, fitness, member experience or child, youth and family) across all membership centres. The successful candidate is a respected leader with significant knowledge and experience in program and facility management. This individual is values-driven and believes passionately in the vital role that the YMCA can, and does, play in the community.
Major Responsibilities:
Ensure operational excellence
Maintain high service standards and satisfaction ratings that are reflected in the achievement of annual membership growth and retention targets. Achieve all quality standards and targets established under YMCA best practices
Provide direct leadership to departmental supervisors
Ensure staff have the skills and knowledge required to perform roles in line with expectations of their functions. Support direct reports in the performance management of staff and volunteer teams.
Ensure the Bettie Allard YMCA meets the strategic plan and operational goals of the Association
Manage and achieve the targets and goals established in the centre's operating budgets.
Operate as a strong team player sharing leadership and accountability under an integrated management and program delivery model.
Develop and maintain positive relationships and increase involvement of members and community partners including the program /membership relationship with the City of Coquitlam.
Develop and implement plans to serve and engage the community through discussion, participation and involvement in community groups, committees and partnerships related to the needs of the Vancouver community.
Establish rapport and maintain effective relationships with staff, volunteers, and members
Qualifications

you bring:
Minimum of 4-6 years of leadership experience in management roles, involving responsibility for planning, operations and financial management
Well-developed interpersonal skills and ability to establish rapport with diverse membership staff, volunteers, community stakeholders and partners
Access to a vehicle or able to travel within the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley
Expertise in a YBC subject matter area is an asset (aquatics, fitness, member experience or child, youth and family
Excellent written communication and public speaking skills
Demonstrated experience and sensitivity in dealing with members of different cultures and backgrounds, including visible and invisible dimensions of diversity
Proven leadership of dedicated, high-performance teams
Post-secondary academic credentials and an ongoing commitment to professional development
Successful candidate will be required to provide 3 satisfactory references
Successful candidates will be required to provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Record check with a Vulnerable sector search issued no later than six (6) months preceding the start date.
