Your Opportunity:The Central Zone Senior Consultant is a professional role supporting the Central Zone Surgical Services operational team, and reports directly to the Director and Programmatic Lead for Surgical Services in Central Zone. The successful applicant with lead the development and implementation of zone wide clinical surgical quality initiatives, reporting, and assist in the strategic planning and improvement initiatives in support for the Provincial Surgery PIN initiatives, along with providing input in the day to day operational aspects associated with PIN initiatives, supporting change management, engaging with front line staff, physicians, and operational leadership, and actively engage in the communication and dissemination of information.Description:This leadership position holds a high degree of independence to coordinate, facilitate, develop, implement and evaluate Zone surgical quality improvement and initiatives. This will require leadership application of quality improvement, change improvement and business methodologies. This position will coordinate initiatives with multiple stakeholders and across sites both within and between Zones, where required. The Zone Surgical Senior Consultant assesses requirements, identifies solutions to complex issues and requests, follows evidence- informed methodologies, and ensures Alberta Health Services (AHS) values, goals and principles are implemented and integrated in the delivery of Surgical Services across the Zone. This role provides project management, change management, quality improvement, and leadership expertise for an interdisciplinary team of professionals and leaders (i.e., internal or external technical and content experts and/or consultants) assigned to support ongoing improvements in surgical care and outcomes. The Surgical Senior Consultant is also responsible for: Providing direction, facilitation, and coordinated support and management of the Surgery Program Improvement & Innovation (PIN) initiatives the Zone. Managing organizational infrastructure required to achieve specific project deliverables, including establishing and overseeing implementation of strategic and business plans, budgets, quality improvement initiatives, planning and progress reporting.

Required Qualifications:An undergraduate degree in social sciences, health profession, management and/or business is required. A master\'s degree in health, Business, Leadership, Policy or Social Sciences. Equivalencies will be considered.
Additional Required Qualifications:A minimum of five years\' experience in leadership/management in a complex health care setting or an organization of significant size The incumbent will possess a record of accomplishment in the following areas: Specialized expertise in planning methodologies, including quality improvement, project management and change management across teams and sites. Coordination experience in project planning, execution, reporting, monitoring and evaluation. Experience managing physical and human resources and related financial information and achieving results. Significant experience in problem solving, risk mitigation, concerns resolution, conflict resolution and negotiation Leadership skills, including demonstrated ability and comfort with leading a team, making decisions, coaching and teaching, and inspiring and building confidence in others in achieving results. Demonstrated ability to engage and foster relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve results. Effective communicator with strong organizational skills, influencing skills, interpersonal skills, client focused orientation and commitment to providing quality services. Ability to develop, facilitate and deliver education to transfer knowledge. Experience in facilitating research, reviews and analysis, evaluations, and formal report development Demonstrated ability to facilitate significant change.
