The Central Stockroom Manager is responsible for supervising, developing, and maintaining all systems and processes related to operations in the regional Central Stockroom. This role oversees the ordering and processing of new and used garment inventories, ensuring that all documentation, procedures, and quality standards are properly followed.
The Stockroom Manager reports directly to the North America Central Stockroom Manager and performs additional duties as assigned, in good faith.
Essential Functions:
Oversee and manage the daily operations of the Central Stockroom.
Monitor, justify, and process garment orders while managing physical stock inventories.
Verify and maintain accurate stockroom records, reports, and orders to improve labor utilization, production efficiency, and cost control.
Lead, train, and supervise all Central Stockroom staff to ensure optimal performance.
Oversee all new hire training and conduct ongoing departmental training programs.
Collaborate with Production and Service Management to ensure a consistent supply of high-quality garments.
Generate detailed inventory reports for management, including stock levels, movement, and returns.
Develop and manage stockroom budgets, including staffing and scheduling.
Lead employee relations and disciplinary initiatives to maintain an engaged, effective, and high-performing team.
Coordinate and communicate effectively with other departments, including Sales, Service, Office, Production, and Engineering.
Implement and enforce company production policies and procedures.
Establish, monitor, and maintain standards for production, quality, housekeeping, and safety.
Follow written and verbal instructions, attend meetings, and perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Additional Functions:
Work with and support other branch or regional personnel.
Qualifications:
Have a minimum of two years of business management experience in a production environment with strong supervisory and management skills. Included in that experience should be some inventory control, receiving, storage, replenishment, and disposition.
Good organizational skills and excellent troubleshooting skills and problem solving.
Ability to lead, motivate and develop staff.
Good verbal and written communication skills in English, ability to comprehend and follow direction, as well as good time management skills and being a team player.
Recognize colors, sizes and types of product and count, add and subtract accurately.
Working knowledge of Outlook, Excel and, Microsoft Word
Education: High School graduation or similar experience.
Travel Requirements:
Occasional travel may be required to visit other branches or attend training meetings.
Typical Environmental Conditions:
Production areas of a typical industrial laundry and warehouse facility which includes variations in temperature, odors, humidity, lint and dust.
Physical Requirements:
Physical Demands/Requirements during shift - standing, sitting, walking, stooping, grasping, lifting, pushing, pulling, moving loaded carts weighting several hundred pounds.
