About this opportunity:

The Control Room Operator will be capable of operating, monitoring, and responding to the Instrumented Control Safety System (ICSS) for production, utilities and safety systems on the West White Rose Platform and SeaRose as well as perform outside duties as a production technologist. We have four positions available. These positions will initially be in St. John\xe2\x80\x99s then rotate to Ingleside, TX, USA, then begin a regular rotation offshore NL. They would be 40 hours/week initially then 4 weeks on 4 weeks off rotation then finally 3 weeks on 3 weeks off rotation.

West White Rose is a concrete based drilling platform, which will access resources in the western part of the existing White Rose field and use the SeaRose floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel for processing within our Atlantic Region Operations.

Responsibilities:

Support mechanical completion and commissioning of production and utility systems of the West White Rose Platform in the Texas Fabrication Yard as well as offshore commissioning leading to a regular offshore rotation primarily on the Platform and SeaRose FPSO, as required, in the White Rose Field.

Duties will include control room operating duties or outside operating duties as applicable

Ensuring all work control processes are adhered to on a daily basis (i.e. Permit to Work). Monitoring and control of subsea wells, flowlines, and risers according to established procedures. In addition, the CCRO is responsible for monitoring telecommunication systems, ICSS, fire and gas, and emergency shutdown systems

Carrying out safe and optimum operation of Platform and FPSO, as required, Processing and Utility Facilities by monitoring and controlling processing and Utility equipment, Protective Systems (Fire & Gas and ESD) and all support systems.

Taking actions to prevent or rectify abnormal plant and production situations as well as initiating and coordinating response instructions during emergency situations.

Maintain open communication between SeaRose and the Platform with a clear understanding of the management of change process related to facility interaction.

Providing accurate production volume, quality, and metering data for production accounting.

Ensuring that well tests are carried out to comply with C-NLOPB regulations.

Providing direction to Process and Utility Operators during normal, upset, and emergency conditions.

Maintaining a daily operating logbook for shift records.

Tracking and monitoring all personnel movements in restricted areas.

Actively participating as a member of the emergency response team.

Implement isolations and prepare equipment for maintenance/inspection.

Prevent/rectify abnormal conditions in plant systems and equipment.

Complete lab testing requirements for well testing and compliance monitoring.

Complete, review and revise operational documentation as directed.

Perform housekeeping duties in work area.

Qualifications:

Technologist or Industry Certification from a recognized post-secondary institution

5-10 years\xe2\x80\x99 related experience in an upstream oil and gas industry, offshore experience preferred.

Training as required by CAPP Standard Practice for Training and Qualifications of Personnel, other regulatory requirements, and company required training as per the approved Training and Competency Matrix

Working knowledge of Distributed Control Systems and computerized control/safety systems and be assessed and deemed competent in the role. This is normally achieved through a combination of on-the-job and process simulation training utilizing a model of the installation\xe2\x80\x99s systems.

Must be able to travel internationally.

Medical (Physical) Requirements/Standards

You will be required to travel/work offshore on a regular rotation, therefore must successfully complete the medical assessment and required training for clearance to work in that environment.
