Job description - Position Summary



This position is responsible for ensuring secure CELPIP exam delivery while providing exceptional customer service in a welcoming, professional environment. The Invigilator oversees all aspects of the CELPIP exam process, including exam set-up, candidate check-in, administration, invigilation, and post-exam clean-up. Successful candidates will be required to complete training prior to the first day of work to ensure full compliance with Paragon Testing procedures. This role reports to the Manager of Language Services at RODS and is classified as a casual position, scheduled on an as-needed basis. Weekend availability is a must.

- Primary Responsibilities:



Working under the direction of the Manager of Language Services the Invigilator will be responsible for the following:

Complying with all testing procedures and strictly adhering to company and test-centre policies, using sound judgment at all times. Checking in candidates, verifying identification, and clearly explaining exam procedures. Managing the check-in and return of test-takers' personal belongings. Processing test-taker registrations using CELPIP-approved procedures. Proctoring/invigilating candidates throughout the exam to ensure a secure testing environment. Collaborating with Paragon Testing and relevant RODS departments to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues. Preparing the test room and setting up required equipment prior to each exam session. Demonstrating a strong commitment to social justice by treating all individuals with respect, dignity, and professionalism. Completing light housekeeping tasks, including sanitizing keyboards and workstations between candidates. Performing other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications and Skills:



Grade 12 or equivalent education. Previous exam invigilation experience and familiarization with the CELPIP test are considered strong assets. Ability to follow instructions and procedures and then work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to work effectively under examination conditions, maintaining confidentiality and secure handling of sensitive information. Excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and consistent punctuality. English language proficiency at Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 7 or higher. Strong writing, computer, and general clerical skills. Excellent interpersonal, communication, collaboration, and organizational abilities. Superior customer service skills, with a professional and welcoming approach. Demonstrated accountability, resourcefulness, initiative, and professionalism. Strong ability to work cooperatively and respectfully in a cross-cultural environment.

Hours of work



This is a casual position with hours scheduled Saturday to Sunday, 8:00 a.m. 6:00 p.m., with a possible maximum of 18 hours of work per week. The starting wage for the Invigilator position is $23.23 per hour at Step 2 of RODS Admin Category 1.
