At the YMCA, we're committed to helping children and families thrive. Child Care Resource and Referral (CCRR) provides services and support to childcare providers and parents. We work to enhance the availability and quality of childcare services by providing information, support, resources as well as referral services to families and childcare providers across our region. And to provide programs for families such as playgroups, Parent Child Mother Goose, Infant Massage and Circle of Security Parenting.
A CCRR consultant at YMCA BC plays a multifaceted role, providing essential support and services to individuals and organizations involved in the childcare realm. They are responsible for delivering strong customer service, offering childcare information, and facilitating educational opportunities for childcare providers and parents. Additionally, they engage in recruitment and registration of family childcare providers, conduct home visits, and organize community outreach activities. Their work requires a high level of organization, efficiency, and attention to detail to support the specific needs, while also collaborating with community agencies and adhering to government standards and legal requirements.
Major Responsibilities

in this position, you will:
Provide strong customer services and support to those individuals and organizations utilizing the services of the CCRR program
Provide childcare information, consultations, and referrals to families
Facilitate workshops, courses, programs, networking, community events and conferences for childcare providers, early childhood educators and parents
Conduct home visits of registered License Not Required Family Child Care providers
Plan and implement outreach activities to childcare providers and families including story times in the park.
Provide consultation, networking, training, and resource development to childcare providers
Demonstrate the ability to be highly organized, efficient, and detail-oriented in order to meet the needs of CCRR Programs.
To work in collaboration and partnership and maintain positive working relationships with other community agencies and service providers
To know, understand and maintain all BC Government CCRR Program Standards and YMCA BC legal requirements
Qualification

you bring:
Early Childhood Education Certificate or equivalent training.
Experience working in childcare and/or within the early years sector (asset)
Valid Class 5 driver's license and ability to use vehicle for travel
Ability to work independently, take initiative and manage time effectively.
Administrative experience, background in customer experience, computers and Microsoft Office 365.
Current Emergency Childcare First Aid/CPR certificate is an asset.
Successful candidate will be required to provide 3 satisfactory references
Successful candidates will be required to provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Record check with a Vulnerable sector search issued no later than six (6) months preceding the start date.
