Situated in the heart of Downtown Richmond's Golden Village and adjacent to the Aberdeen Skytrain station, Radisson Hotel Vancouver Airport is an upscale full-service hotel with 16,000 square feet of premium conference facilities. We are seeking an energetic, adaptable, and dedicated individual to join the team as the Catering/Group Sales Manager specializing in the social, wedding, and group market. This role involves driving social event, wedding and group sales and delivering unique experiences for our guests. In addition, the candidate must maintain flexibility for deployment to sell other room segments as assigned by the Director of Sales & Marketing.
Key Responsibilities:
Actively solicit new business and respond to inquiries with the goal of converting them into confirmed bookings.
Understand the specific needs of potential clients and deliver personalized solutions that exceed their expectations.
Plan, coordinate, and execute weddings and social events, working closely with clients to bring their visions to life.
Develop and implement catering sales strategies to meet revenue goals.
Analyze market trends to identify new business opportunities and areas for growth.
Develop and sustain strong relationships with vendors, clients, and key community partners.
Conduct site tours, client meetings, and tasting appointments, providing a superior customer experience.
Collaborate with the Food & Beverage, Culinary, and Banquet teams to ensure seamless event operations.
Conduct post-event evaluations to assess the quality and efficiency of events and identify areas for improvement.
Monitor market trends and competitor activities and recommend strategies to enhance our offerings and boost revenue.
Be flexible in selling other room segments as assigned by the Director of Sales & Marketing, ensuring overall hotel targets are achieved.
Up-sell the hotel's services and products.
Work closely with the client throughout the duration of the event, ensuring successful outcome from arrival to departure.
Organize events effectively with an acute sense of detail and ability to anticipate our client's specific needs.
Prepare accurate contracts in a timely fashion for client approval and signature.
Prepare concise Banquet Event Orders, floor plans and event group resume for distribution.
Participate in networking events, trade shows, and sales blitzes to represent our hotel and develop new business opportunities.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum three years in a sales or similar role within the hospitality industry
Minimum two years' catering or wedding events management experience in a similar environment.
Experienced and knowledgeable of handling large catering events would be an asset.
Bachelor's degree in Hotel Sales or Events Management or a relevant field of work, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated knowledge of hospitality systems and software .
Demonstrated advanced level knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
