Catering Manager - Crowne Plaza Toronto Airport



Job Summary:



The Catering Manager at Crowne Plaza Toronto Airport is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the hotel's catering operations, ensuring the successful planning and execution of events, meetings, and banquets. This role involves managing client relationships, coordinating with internal departments, and maximizing revenue opportunities while delivering exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities:



Sales & Client Relations:



Develop and maintain relationships with corporate clients, event planners, and social groups to drive catering sales. Conduct site visits, meetings, and tastings to understand client needs and provide tailored event solutions. Negotiate contracts and pricing to maximize revenue while ensuring client satisfaction. Proactively seek new business opportunities through networking, prospecting, and industry events.

Event Planning & Execution:



Work closely with clients to plan and coordinate all aspects of their event, including menus, seating arrangements, and decor. Collaborate with the culinary, banquet, and operations teams to ensure seamless execution of events. Provide detailed event orders and timelines to all relevant departments. Ensure compliance with hotel policies, health and safety regulations, and local bylaws.

Financial & Operational Management:



Develop and achieve revenue goals for the catering department. Monitor event budgets, ensuring cost control while maintaining quality and service standards. Analyze catering sales reports and adjust strategies to improve performance. Oversee event billing and ensure timely and accurate invoicing.

Guest Satisfaction & Service Excellence:



Maintain high standards of customer service and guest satisfaction before, during, and after events. Address client feedback and resolve any issues promptly. Stay updated on industry trends to enhance catering offerings and guest experiences.

Requirements & Qualifications:



Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business, or a related field (preferred). Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in catering sales, banquet management, or event planning, preferably in a hotel setting. Strong knowledge of food and beverage operations, including menu planning and event execution. Excellent negotiation, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple events simultaneously. Proficiency in event management software, Microsoft Office Suite, and hotel sales systems (e.g., Delphi, Opera). Knowledge of local market trends and industry best practices. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
