We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Catering/Event Server to join our staff who will report directly to the Cafe & Catering Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service during events, ensuring that guests have a memorable experience. You will work closely with the catering team to set up, serve, and clean up after events, maintaining a high standard of hospitality throughout. The ideal candidate is a team player with a strong work ethic, exceptional customer service skills, and a genuine passion for the food and beverage industry.
Job Duties
Adhere to and enforce all appropriate workplace regulations, compliances, and legislation regarding health and safety, food preparation standards, and company policies and procedures
Be continually aware of, and maintain, the highest standards of professionalism by following the company dress code and/or wearing the company uniform
Maintain a professional appearance, demeanour, and attitude at all times
Protect the health and safety of others by adopting safe work practices and reporting unsafe conditions immediately
Greet customers with a smile and answer their questions as required
Ensure food is handled according to health and safety standards and proper cleanup occurs to meet health regulations (cafe and catering areas)
Clean agreed designated areas in accordance with laid-down procedures, morning or evening routines, and hygiene requirements
Clear tables and maintain cleanliness during and after service.
Set up event spaces and tables according to event specifications (linens, silverware, glassware, decorations).
Serve food and beverages efficiently and accurately during buffet and/or cocktail-style events.
Assist in setup and takedown of museum events
Perform other related duties as required
Job Requirements
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
Flexible availability
One year of experience in the hospitality and event services industry
Strong working knowledge of industry principles, methods, practices, and techniques
Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced, environment while maintaining attention to detail
Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
Ability to work individually as well as part of a team
Work Conditions
Flexible hours
including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
Extended periods of standing, and other physically demanding conditions
Occasional overtime and/or lieu time
