The Category Manager will report directly to the Managing Director, North American Sales and play a key role in driving and developing the product category across the entire value chain. As a results-oriented and strategic collaborator, you will work closely with marketing, procurement, and operations teams to optimize internal efficiencies and develop relationships with vendors to exceed customers\' expectations.

In this role, you will conduct thorough analysis to ensure accuracy, profitability, and competitiveness, as well as stay current on market trends and research to support the company\'s category and pricing strategy. You excel at providing quality service to the sales organizations and customers, both in terms of ensuring the right assortment, the right prices, the right inventories, as well as in various business cases.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Strategic development of the product category and geographically, responsible for the development of the categories worldwide.
  • Drive significant growth in Asian and North American markets.
  • Price management and allocation of sales volumes for all markets.
  • Offer preparation for the sales organizations.
  • Develop assortment and sales for the industry, food service and retail segments.
  • Optimization of stock levels, including securing optimum turnover ratio.
  • Implement initiatives to achieve sales targets and budgets.
  • Balance raw material supplies and raw material inventories against sales forecasts.
  • Implement sourcing and/or trading activities/initiatives within your category area.
  • Oversee projects to optimize business within the product category.
  • Increase sales on sales volumes, prices and assortment.
  • Monitor strategic KPI\'s to action and increase sales and efficiencies.
As the ideal candidate, you bring strong business and financial expertise with a relevant educational background. Experience in an analyst, product, or category management role is preferred with food production experience in an international organization considered an asset. A combination of education and experience will be considered.

The ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism, accuracy, and detail is essential. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required to deliver a superior customer service experience as well as build relationships with all stakeholders. Fluency in English and French especially at the negotiation level is an asset. Proven analytical and problem-solving skills as well as a strong working knowledge of MS Office and experience using ERP systems, preferably SAP is key to success in this role.
