Summary

At STEMCELL Technologies, Canada\'s Largest Biotech company, we are transforming our procurement department and building out a proactive and strategic category management function. We are looking for experienced Category Managers with a strategic mindset, strong supplier management skills, and exceptional negotiation abilities to help us get there.

As a Category Manager, Infrastructure Projects you will be responsible for overseeing strategic procurement activities for the Infrastructure Category including design and construction services for the expansion/renovation of STEMCELL distribution centers, lab and office spaces, and manufacturing facilities. You will develop in-depth knowledge of markets and suppliers while working with internal and external stakeholders to maximize value and mitigate risk.



Duties and Responsibilities

Develop market knowledge through identifying market leaders, understanding value chains, supply and demand drivers, monitoring supply trends and shifts in technology to identify areas of opportunity and risk\xc3\x82

Represent Procurement in cross-functional meetings and projects as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert for Procurement activities

Facilitate cross functional strategic sourcing and supplier selection; work closely with external departments to align and ensure the selection meets the needs of the business

Practice supplier relationship management principles for key suppliers; conduct internal and supplier-facing business reviews to monitor supplier\xc3\xa2\xc2\x80\xc2\x99s spend and performance to drive improvement opportunities/initiatives such as cost reductions, operational efficiencies and quality improvements

Engage\xc3\x82 in contract negotiations, supply agreement development, contract execution and management

Knowledge and Qualifications

Bachelor\'s or advanced degree with 5+ years of relevant experience in procurement or category management

Experience in strategic sourcing, negotiations, and post award contract management within the construction category

Strong business analytical skills and comfort with identifying data needs and sources\xc3\x82

Excellent facilitation and organizational skills with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams and deliver complex objectives under stringent timelines

Familiar with ERP software (SAP preferred) and Demand Driven MRP

Exposure to ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 quality management systems and cGMPs is an asset
