We are seeking a Category Manager to lead one of our core product portfolios within the West Four Group of Companies. The Category Manager is responsible for driving category strategy, managing supplier relationships, and delivering performance through effective pricing, sourcing, and cross-functional collaboration. This role plays a key part in connecting purchasing, operations, and sales while ensuring that the right products are available at the right time, at the right cost.
What You'll Do:
Develop and execute category strategies that align with organizational goals for cost, quality, and service.
Take a hands-on approach to category management, assist with creating bill of materials, setting up product codes, and ensuring accuracy in item data and pricing.
Support and manage supplier relationships, including vendor selection, pricing, and performance reviews.
Collaborate with Procurement and Operations teams to ensure supply continuity and optimal inventory levels.
Analyze market trends, product performance, and category profitability to identify opportunities for improvement.
Partner with Sales and Marketing to develop promotions, programs, and initiatives that drive category growth.
Support negotiations of buying agreements, rebates, and supplier programs in collaboration with the Director of Procurement.
Oversee product life cycle management including introductions, transitions, and discontinuations.
Support and mentor Category Coordinators to ensure effective execution of purchasing, analytics, and reporting.
Track and report on key category KPIs such as sales, margin, turnover, and supplier performance.
Support the transition of operational and program management responsibilities currently held by senior leadership into category-specific accountability.
Who You Are:
5+ years of category management, procurement, or product management experience in manufacturing, distribution, or building materials industries.
Proven experience working within Division 8 (Openings) and/or Division 10 (Specialties) of the construction industry is required, with strong understanding of related products, materials, and supplier networks.
Strong understanding of sourcing, vendor management, and cost analysis principles.
Demonstrated ability to translate data and insights into actionable business strategies.
Experienced with ERP/MRP systems (S2K Enterprise, SAP, or similar) and proficient in Excel.
Excellent relationship builder who can collaborate across Procurement, Operations, Sales, and Finance.
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
A proactive problem solver with a continuous improvement mindset.
A degree or diploma in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field is preferred; however, applicants with equivalent experience will be fully considered.

Pay: $84,250.00-$114,750.00 per year
