Job Description

We are looking for a dynamic Category Manager to join our team in Brampton, Ontario. In this role, you will oversee multiple product categories, ensuring they align with business objectives and strategic growth initiatives. You will be responsible for driving results through effective planning, market analysis, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute category strategies to optimize product assortment, pricing, and sales plans in alignment with customer needs and business goals.
  • Conduct market research and supplier evaluations to stay informed on industry trends and identify opportunities for innovation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless implementation of merchandising plans and promotional activities.
  • Cultivate strong vendor relationships to enhance profitability and improve product offerings.
  • Monitor and analyze financial performance, including profit and loss metrics, to identify areas for improvement and drive revenue growth.
  • Partner with international teams to create differentiated products that support proprietary brand development and strategic initiatives.
  • Provide clear and consistent direction to merchandising teams while maintaining alignment with broader organizational objectives.
  • Participate in key meetings and presentations to share insights, propose solutions, and contribute to strategic decision-making.
  • Take ownership of category performance by continuously refining strategies and ensuring results align with business expectations.
  • Identify and implement innovative approaches to improve competitiveness and market positioning.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or a minimum of 5 years of experience in purchasing or category management.
  • Strong understanding of ERP systems and proficiency in managing purchase orders and vendor relationships.
  • Proven ability to analyze market trends and competitive landscapes to inform strategic decisions.
  • Exceptional communication skills to effectively collaborate across departments and with external partners.
  • Demonstrated experience managing profit and loss statements and driving financial performance.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable strategies.
  • Innovative mindset and problem-solving abilities to adapt to changing market conditions.
  • Solid experience in merchandise planning and pricing strategies to maximize profitability.
