What you\xe2\x80\x99ll doReporting to the AVP, Party City Merchandise, the successful candidate will be accountable for delivering the financial plans of their merchandising categories through the development and execution of assortment, pricing and promotional plans. This role is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in pushing forward our Strategic plans and provide greater benefit to our customers. This role will appeal to someone that is energized by solving new problems and who is Intrapreneurial.Act as the subject-matter expert for the Party City portfolio (Halloween)Develop a broad categorical understanding of its relative consumer trends, competitive & market analysis and CTR store executional nuances and requirements. Financial accountability for category through adherence to predefined CTR strategy objectives and guidelinesSupport assortment analysis and development on SKU linesSetting & delivering against categorical assortment plans and evolve to customer centric measuresPlanning, execution & delivery of line review process which can include but is not limited to: approval of the assortment and pricing plans, import trip planning and execution, vendor relationship/negotiation and overseeing timeline deliveryRecommend action plan for item discontinuation and pricingDefine and execute against categorical promotional plans; including promotional item selection & offer to deliver against the plans and financial objectivesProvide content for store education on product/process educationEnsuring adherence to promotional and pricing strategiesDevelops, mentors, guides and coaches Category Business Analyst by setting clear performance objectives and providing ongoing and timely feedbackWhat you bring5 years in Category Management experience and/or progressive growth in a relevant cross functional roleDemonstrated ability to develop and execute business plans and initiatives that will achieve financial performance and operational targetsStrong business acumen skills; demonstrated expertise of retail marketing, consumer trends, and inventory managementAbsolute commitment to delivering consumer-focused initiatives; possess superior innovation management skillsStrong people management skills with demonstrated ability to develop othersSuperior leadership skills and presence; highly developed sense of accountability, passion and track record for delivering resultsHighly effective interpersonal and communication skills; regularly influences and persuades key stakeholdersPost-secondary education or equivalent experienceAbility to travel 2 - 4 weeks per yearHybridWe value flexibility.
