Earning Potential - $ 2700- $4000/ day Locum

The Opportunity:

EM Locum work within the Western Health Authority in rural Newfoundland. Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre in Port aux Basques, Bonne Bay Health Centre in Norris Point, Calder Health Centre in Burgeo and Rufus Guinchard Health Centre in Port Saunders

Provide 24-hour rural site Category B emergency call coverage.

Required to handle whatever walks through the door\xe2\x80\xa6.MI, Motor Vehicle Accidents (MVA), administer thrombolytics, intubate/stabilize patients for transfer to regional sites etc.

Category B ED Incentive & Additional Top Up Payment Model:

FFS billings + Incentive top up hourly rate.

Physicians will be supported to complete the FFS billing

M-F 8am - 6pm FFS + $55/hour

M-F 6pm- 8am FFS + $39.29/hour

Weekends & Holidays FFS + $45.83/hour

Example: Physician working 24 hour call M-F will earn FFS billing + an additional $1100/day

Location:

Western Health is located in the western most part of Newfoundland and Labrador, serving approximately 77,980 people (15 percent of the province\'s population) encompassing the geographical boundaries from Port aux Basques southeast to Francois, northwest to Bartlett\'s Harbour, and on the eastern boundary north to Jackson\'s Arm.

Western Health provides community based services from 24 office sites, community based medical services from 26 medical clinic sites (including traveling clinic sites), and eight health facilities. The health facilities include two hospitals: Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital in Stephenville and Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook; four health centers: Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre in Port aux Basques, Bonne Bay Health Centre in Norris Point, Calder Health Centre in Burgeo and Rufus Guinchard Health Centre in Port Saunders; and two long term care centers: Corner Brook Long Term Care Centre in Corner Brook and Bay St. George Long Term Care Centre in Stephenville Crossing. Within its facilities, Western Health operates 293 acute care beds, and 434 long term care beds, 40 enhanced assisted living beds for individuals with mild to moderate dementia, as well as 14 restorative care beds.

Skills required:

Medical Degree with specialist training in Family Medicine or Emergency Medicine

Hold CCFP OR Royal College of Canada certification or eligibility

MCCQE1 exam or a complete set of USMLE\'s

OR Holds a FULL license to practice in another Canadian Province.

Eligible for registration and license with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador.
