Job Description

The CAT and Property Technical Lead will be the supervisor of the national catastrophe adjusting team and will be responsible for managing resources across Canada, with a dedicated focus on technical property support.



The candidate will provide technical oversight of property claims, including the development, implementation, training/mentoring, promotion and performance management of Property Claims, Catastrophe Services, protocols and programs.

Act as the primary client contact during CAT events, ensuring smooth communication and confidence in our response. Manage and coordinate the roster of CAT adjusters, and oversee deployment as required. CAT and Property workflow development, implementation, training, claim mentoring, statistical analysis, compliance, performance and quality reviews of property claims. National and International Catastrophe deployment, site leadership of Crawford CAT team and / or CAT adjusting duties, on a per event basis and upon agreement with the Property VP. Claim file reviews, review of escalations and handling CAT claims when required. Support the broader property business outside CAT season with special projects, training, technical file and coverage reviews and closing claims. Provide technical oversight and quality assurance on property claims, including leveraging Xactimate/XactAnalysis expertise. Provide training for Xactimate, Xactanalysis, Symbility, digital tools, and systems access. Manage and maintain On Duty Adjuster roster. Analyse claim data including client KPI reporting and file performance. Flexibility to pivot between CAT planning, CAT event response and ongoing Technical Property Operational Support with our team and managers and adjusters nationally. Other duties as assigned Minimum 5 years' residential and commercial property claims experience is required. Strong property technical adjusting background, ideally with large loss experience. Advanced proficiency in estimating platforms (Xactimate 3, XactAnalysis). Previous CAT experience is an asset. Previous leadership or management experience an considered an asset. Post Secondary Degree, or equivalent work experience. Ability to obtain full Ontario adjusting license is required, multiple provincial licenses is an asset. CIP or FCIP designation is an asset. Excellent written and verbal communication -- able to present to clients, brokers, and internal teams. Run reports and analyses data to present to managers and clients. Leadership skills to motivate and guide CAT adjusters when activated. Strong Customer Service skills in dealing with internal and external clients. Previous experience in administrative tasks, project management, or insurance claims is an asset. Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively. Exceptional time management skills with a consistent ability to meet deadlines. Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimum supervision. Strong willingness to learn, take initiative, and continuously improve skills and performance. The ability to adapt to changes, new procedures and protocols as needed, effectively managing change. Availability for extended travel - national and international - Some travel outside of home province and outside of Canada as required for CAT deployment. Valid passport. Valid driver's license.
