In this role, you will:

Work with a wide range of ages as BGC Cranbrook provides licensed child care programs for children from birth to 12 years of age, as well as youth programming. Provide a nurturing, fun, and safe environment for children and youth. Provide active, engaged supervision, count in ratio, and assist in planned experiences/activities. Assist in cleaning, sanitizing, and facility maintenance as needed and directed. Establish positive relationships with children, families, and co-workers.

What we're looking for:

Priority will be given to Early Childhood Educators, and Early Childhood Educator Assistants. Minimum qualification required to be considered is Responsible Adult. Flexibility in availability -

Casual/Substitute positions do not have guaranteed hours

, but would be contacted for shifts to cover time off requests, wellness days, and/or other last minute requests, subject to your availability at the time of requests. Current Childcare Emergency First Aid Certificate, or willingness to obtain at own cost. Adaptability, positivity, and the energy to thrive in a growing, fast-paced organization. Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (min. two doses of an approved vaccine.) Cleared agency criminal record check.

Rate of Pay:

$19.00 - $27.00/hour dependant on certifications/experience.

Please note we are hiring for $10 A Day Early Years programs under the Operating Funding Model and do not offer the BC Government's ECE Wage Enhancement - wages offered are as noted.

Position Terms:

Casual/Substitute. Programs operate Mondays - Fridays, offering a variation of 2-8 hour length shifts that range between 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM, or a bit later for youth programming. Potential for regular hours/upgraded positions as programs grow and evolve.
