Overview:CASUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY- YELLOWKNIFE, NT - Participates as a member of the Supply Chain Management team, providing casual warehouse support. This includes receiving and shipping stock from internal and external sources, providing stock management and inventory control support, running daily errands, coordinating air transportation for staff and materials to area and satellite plants. The incumbent will ensure all work is performed in accordance with Corporation policy and procedures and Canadian regulations and standards such as WHMIS and Transportation of Dangerous Goods. Responsibilities:

  • Accepts incoming freight and ensures parts/items received correspond with order. Identifies and addresses any discrepancies with vendor, contractor and/or employee who placed the order.
Code and approve standard and contract invoices.Supplies materials to various trade groups, satellite plants, and other areas as requested.Packages and/or crates all outgoing material in accordance with applicable government regulations.Enter Inventory Transfer to Site / Inventory Transfer to Project transaction.Performs inventory counts in satellite plants, reconcile identified variance by looking back at previous transactions in the system. Identifies any discrepancies to the Supplies Inventory Coordinator.Performs yard maintenance such as organization of stock/materials, disposal of garbage, removal of snow or debris using appropriate equipment such as loader and/or snow blower.Performs maintenance/ repairs in warehouse. Arranges for service or repairs for any building/mechanical problems and addresses any major work required to building to Supervisor.Examines tools and equipment and initiates repairs or replacement as required.Administers inventory of tools and equipment kept in the storeroom for various trades, such as test equipment, protective/safety equipment, line tools and mechanics tools. Monitors usage, location and addresses overdue items. Ships tools/ equipment to NTPC employees and contractors as required.Ensures Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) are filed in master binder and distributes updated or new sheets for the Region.Operates all equipment used in and around storeroom such as forklift, pallet jack, pickup truck, Genie and loader. Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required, and a minimum of three years warehousing experience.
  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods and WHMIS training provided upon hire.
  • Proficient in computer applications such as: Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Must be experienced with operation of loader and forklift.
  • Valid class 5 NT drivers licence with clean driver's abstract required.
  • Knowledge and understanding of transportation routing via water, air, and road.
  • Good planning, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Team player with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must undergo a successful criminal records check.
Salary for this position ranges from $42.01/hr-$51.03/hr.
