Job Purpose
---------------


Reporting to the Supervisor, Surveillance, the Security Surveillance Operator is responsible to provide surveillance for security related services of casino operations in full compliance with Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries (MBLL) policies, procedures, and standards. The incumbent will monitor, observe, and document all activities, and take immediate steps to respond to possible threats to the safety and security of staff, patrons, and assets of MBLL casino properties.


Job Responsibilities
------------------------


• Observe interior and exterior casino facilities' operations to detect threats to the safety and security of staff, patrons, and assets and to maintain integrity of the facilities.
• Detect and act upon breaches of law, procedure violations, theft, and any other suspicious events.
• Maintain knowledge and monitor persons excluded (voluntary/involuntary) from the facilities and notify Surveillance Supervisor and the Security Supervisor if they are observed on the casino property.
• Support operations of Central Surveillance by monitoring movement of cash and cash equivalents over predefined amount including slot machine pulls, ATM and NRT fills, cash escorts, armoured car runs, and chip fills/decreases as required.
• Conduct routine live monitoring of cash handling areas, including the Bank, Countroom, and float verification areas.
• Support Central Surveillance by maintaining live coverage of subjects and areas as requested by the Surveillance Supervisor.
• Immediately report suspicious cash transaction observations as required by Anti-Money Laundering (AML) legislation and MBLL procedures to Central Surveillance.
• Monitor, respond, and take appropriate action regarding specific alarms received from the in-house alarm monitoring system for the casino properties, including door held and forced door alarms.
• Open authorized doors as requested by security personnel.
• Notify appropriate personnel of activated alarms.

Primary Qualifications
--------------------------


• Completion of Grade 12.
• Possess and maintain a full valid Provincial Security Guard License, which includes Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Registry.
• Minimum of one year of experience in security/surveillance, loss prevention, or law enforcement.
• Excellent written communication, interpersonal, and observational skills, with the ability to analyze and solve problems independently using good judgment.
• Intermediate skills in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, OneDrive, and Teams).
• Ongoing training as required to stay current in the industry.
• Training manuals in front line casino positions will be provided to gain knowledge and understanding of all the roles, functions, and responsibilities performed by the floor employees.

Secondary Qualifications
----------------------------


• Previous knowledge of incident management systems, alarm monitoring systems, and CCTV management systems is an asset.
• Training and/or courses in the field of security, policing, and criminology are an asset.

Vacation
