Position Summary:

Clear Health Solutions Ltd. is seeking compassionate and dedicated Personal Support Workers (PSWs) to provide essential care and support to clients in their homes within the Warman area. This role requires a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our clients by assisting with activities of daily living and promoting their overall well-being. The successful candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, a genuine desire to help others, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. This position adheres to all Saskatchewan Human Resources guidelines, the Saskatchewan Employment Act, Labour Standards, CPHR (where applicable), and the Ministry of Labour Relations and Health and Safety regulations.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Personal Care:

Assisting clients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility. This may involve using assistive devices and following care plans as directed.

Meal Preparation:

Planning and preparing nutritious meals according to client dietary needs and preferences, and assisting with feeding as required.

Medication Reminders:

Providing medication reminders to clients as per their care plan, but not administering medications unless specifically authorized and trained to do so*.

Light Housekeeping:

Performing light housekeeping duties, such as dusting, vacuuming, laundry, and tidying, to maintain a clean and safe environment for clients.

Companionship:

Providing companionship to clients, engaging in conversation, and participating in activities that promote their social and emotional well-being.

Documentation:

Accurately documenting client care activities, observations, and any changes in their condition, ensuring clear and concise communication with the healthcare team.

Communication:

Communicating effectively with clients, families, and other healthcare professionals, maintaining confidentiality and respecting client rights.

Adherence to Standards:

Adhering to all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines, as well as relevant legislation and regulations, including the Saskatchewan Employment Act, Labour Standards, and Occupational Health and Safety regulations.

Emergency Response:

Recognizing and responding appropriately to emergency situations, including contacting emergency services and following established protocols.

Other Tasks:

Participating in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge. Attending team meetings and contributing to a positive and collaborative work environment. Reporting any concerns or issues related to client care or safety to the appropriate supervisor. Maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor at all times. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed. Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Successful completion of a recognized Personal Care Worker course from St. John Ambulance or another credible training provider recognized by the Saskatchewan Ministry of Health. Proof of certification is required. Valid Saskatchewan Class 5 Driver's License with a clean driving record. Ability to operate a personal vehicle and maintain valid vehicle insurance with a minimum of $2 million Autopak liability coverage. Proof of insurance is required. Current First Aid and CPR certification. Demonstrated experience in providing personal care services is an asset. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong commitment to providing compassionate and client-centered care. Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

Working Conditions:

This position involves working in clients' homes, which may vary in terms of environment and accessibility. The work may be physically demanding, requiring standing, lifting, and bending. Exposure to various health and safety risks associated with providing personal care.
