Hymie's Hauling serves the Interlake and Winnipeg area with compassion, caring, and old-school values. We specialize in respectful unwanted item removal, helping families reclaim their space while diverting items to local charities and keeping unnecessary waste out of landfills.

The Role:

This casual part-time position combines hands-on labour with outside sales opportunities. You'll help families with garage cleanouts, estate clearing, and junk removal across Teulon, Gimli, Stonewall, Winnipeg, and surrounding communities.You will initially work as part of our local crew in your area (Winnipeg or Interlake), with optional paid travel opportunities between service zones as you gain experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Safely load and transport unwanted items using proper lifting techniques Operate power tools and equipment for disassembly and removal Sort items for donation, recycling, and proper disposal Drive in all weather conditions including winter, rain, and on rural roads Navigate rural properties, often without GPS or clear addresses Solve on-site problems including access challenges and logistical issues Communicate clearly with clients during emotional transitions (downsizing, estate cleanouts) Build rapport and show empathy with seniors and families Identify and pursue outside sales opportunities in the community Conduct on-site consultations and provide quotes Document jobs using smartphone apps (photos and notes) Represent Hymie's Hauling professionally in appearance and demeanor

What We're Looking For:

Physically capable of 4-8 hour shifts with continuous activity in extreme temperatures Willing to get dirty--dust, grime, and sometimes unpleasant conditions Confident driving in winter conditions, rain, and on unpaved rural roads Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to unexpected challenges Excellent attendance, punctuality, and reliability Strong verbal communication and emotional intelligence Comfortable with outside sales activities including door-to-door outreach Understanding of and respect for rural Manitoba communities and values Works well independently and as part of a small team Positive attitude during challenging or repetitive tasks Flexible with end times--jobs can run longer than expected Able to handle last-minute schedule changes Commitment to waste diversion and environmental responsibility

Requirements:

Bonus Qualifications:

Sales, customer service, or client-facing experience Experience navigating rural roads and finding properties without GPS Familiarity with Interlake or Winnipeg geography Experience driving half-ton trucks or towing dump trailers Previous work in construction, moving, landscaping, or similar trades Experience working with seniors or in sensitive situations
