We are looking for an experienced, people-focused, patient, Registered Practical Nurse to join our Health & Wellness Team.

This individual enjoys working with seniors, is compassionate, can manage competing priorities and thrives in a fast-paced environment. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is confident in their nursing skills, thinks critically, takes initiative and can work both independently and collaboratively.

Here is what else you'll do on shift:

Provide nursing care to residents who require assistance with medical administration and wound care Assist with medical emergencies Effectively use nursing process - assess, plan, implement and evaluate Identify plan and provide care for individual residents Perform basic nursing skills as listed in Standards of Practice Implement the person-centred care plan with prescribed medical regime Communicate (ongoing) with families/support systems to ensure resident needs are being met Respect autonomy and individual choice of the resident Maintain good relationships with multidisciplinary team, families and with the public Use leadership skills in a systematic approach to identify problems and solve them Provide effective support and supervision of PSW's
Our ideal candidate:

Has experience working with seniors in a retirement setting or clinical setting Possesses excellent communication skills, verbal and written Has qualities of empathy, kindness, integrity, responsibility and understanding Is able to work independently and collaboratively within a team, be resourceful, and demonstrate flexibility Has experience with Yardi
Mandatory requirements:

Diploma from an accredited school of nursing and Current registration with CNO Cleared Vulnerable Sector Police Check Two-Step Tuberculosis (TB) Skin Test Completion of online mandatory training modules
Schedule:

Shifts on an as-needed basis, either scheduled in advance or offered last-minute due to staff call-ins Shifts are 7am-3pm, 3pm-11pm and 11pm-7am

Process:

1) A brief initial phone call - This will last up to ten minutes and will involve questions about previous experience, how you handle certain situations and availability.
2) A first in-person interview - This interview will last between 30 & 45 minutes and will focus on getting to know you as a person as well as give you a chance to get to know Christie Gardens. There will be no questions based on your previous professional experience and the interviewer will not be from the Resident Services department.
3) A Second in-person interview - This interview will last between 30 & 60 minutes and will involve questions around previous professional experience. The Team Leader for Resident Services will conduct this interview, likely with one other member of the Leadership Team.
4) References - A member of Human Resources will reach out to you for 2-3 references - current or previous managers or direct supervisors.
5) Job offer

Hourly Rate: $30.55/hour (May be adjusted upward based on previous RPN hours)
