Overview

We are seeking a personable and caring individual to support us with our 11 year old son who has Down syndrome and autism.

During the summer, hours can be primarily during the day, in the school year, we offer a split shift or just evenings. The schedule is flexible and negotiated month to month where we try to meet both your and our needs with options to add in weekends as desired.

Please note that our son is immunocompromised and we require clear and honest communication about health status to avoid bringing any illness into our home.

Duties

Provide personal care assistance, including bathing, grooming, and dressing. Assist with meal preparation and supervision during meals. Offer companionship and engagement in meaningful activities. Assist with medication reminders and daily living activities.

Qualifications

Experience working with children required. Knowledge of autism and Down syndrome a strong asset. Previous experience in caregiving or non-institutional home care is preferred but not required. Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with children. Compassionate nature with a commitment to providing high-quality care. Certification in CPR or first aid is advantageous but not mandatory. Criminal Record Check (Vulnerable Sector) within 3 months required.

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8 - 24 per week
