We are seeking a passionate and dedicated casual Educator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for engaging children in a stimulating learning environment and following "How Does Learning Happen", Ontario's pedagogy for the early years. Casual educators will work with a combination of pre-scheduled shifts and on-call availability. A set amount of hours can not be guaranteed as the needs of the centre change week to week. Casual educators will work with children from infant to school age, and will be required to adapt successfully to different age groups.

Responsibilities:
-Cover a variety of shifts in a variety of classrooms during operating hours (7:00AM until 5:30PM)
- Be prepared for call-ins on days marked available
- Tasks include diapering and washroom routines, feeding, carrying out learning activities in the classroom, maintaining professional supervision at all times while on duty
- Utilize a variety of strategies to accommodate different learning styles and behaviour needs
-Provide children with age-appropriate activities that promote a sense of belonging, engagement, expression, well-being.
- Act in a professional manner when on duty and interacting with colleagues, parents, children and supervisors
- Maintain a safe and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning
-Oversee safety and well-being of children
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and supervisors to support student development
Requirements:
-Preference is given to applicants who hold their RECE title and are in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators.
- Applicants must hold a valid First Aid and CPR level C certificate.
-Applicants must be able to provide a clear police record check including vulnerable sector check.
Experience and Skills:
- Previous experience working with children in a child care centre is preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to adapt strategies to meet the needs of all children in an inclusive environment
-Ability to be flexible and adapt to sudden changes to meet the needs of the centre
-Dependable, responsible and punctual
-Patient and engaging personality
-Displays a passion for teaching and developing activities with knowledge of "How Does Learning Happen"
-Knowledge of child behaviour and self-regulation strategies an asset
-Able to work cooperatively as part of a team
