Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to join our dietary team as a cook. This role involves preparing and serving high-quality food that is well balanced, aesthetically pleasing, and nutritious to residents and invited guests. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food, excellent food safety knowledge, and the ability to deliver exceptional customer service. The applicant must be reliable, honest, and able to work independently. Any basic food handling and/or serving courses would be an asset. You must have a valid First Aid and GHS certificates, and a recent criminal record check is required.

Duties

Prepare and cook a variety of menu items according to established recipes and standards Serve customers efficiently and courteously, ensuring a positive dining experience Handle food safely and maintain cleanliness in all food preparation areas Assist in food presentation and plating to meet quality standards Follow all health and safety regulations related to food handling and sanitation Maintain organized workstations and ensure all kitchen equipment is properly cleaned and stored Support team members during busy periods, ensuring smooth kitchen operations Adhere to portion control guidelines and minimize waste during meal preparation

Experience

Previous experience in food service, restaurant, or kitchen environment preferred Knowledge of food handling, safety procedures, and sanitation standards required Experience with meal preparation, cooking techniques, and food presentation beneficial Familiarity with the food industry's best practices for maintaining cleanliness and safety standards Strong serving skills with a focus on customer satisfaction is highly desirable Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced setting
