Duties

Greet customers warmly and provide outstanding customer service throughout their shopping journey Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system efficiently to process transactions accurately and quickly Handle cash, credit, and digital payments with precision, ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed Upsell products and suggest add-on items to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales opportunities Conduct product demos when required, showcasing features and benefits to customers Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring product availability Assist with inventory management through stocking and merchandising tasks to keep the store inviting and well-organized Offer bilingual support when needed to serve a diverse customer base effectively Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when taking orders or answering inquiries over the phone Support team members by supervising or assisting with daily store operations as needed Promote a positive shopping environment by practicing good communication skills and friendly engagement

Requirements

Previous cashiering experience in a retail or grocery store setting is preferred but not mandatory; enthusiasm and willingness to learn are key! Familiarity with POS systems and basic math skills for quick calculations during transactions Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally in person and over the phone Ability to handle cash accurately, including cash handling procedures and retail math calculations Experience in retail sales, merchandising, stocking, or grocery store operations is advantageous Bilingual abilities are a plus for serving a diverse community effectively Supervising experience is beneficial for those interested in leadership opportunities within the team Excellent communication skills combined with a friendly attitude will help create memorable shopping experiences for every customer
