Overview

We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cashier to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for customer service and a keen eye for detail. As a Cashier, you will be responsible for providing excellent service to our customers while accurately processing transactions. Your role will be crucial in creating a positive shopping experience and ensuring that our store runs smoothly. You will need to pump gas as well.

Responsibilities

Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system to process customer transactions accurately and efficiently. Handle cash, credit, and other forms of payment while maintaining accurate cash handling practices. Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries. Assist with merchandising and stocking shelves to ensure product availability and store organization. Conduct product demonstrations to engage customers and promote new items. Maintain cleanliness and organization at the checkout area. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy periods. Supervise junior staff when necessary, providing guidance and support as needed.

Skills

Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with customers. Experience in cashiering, retail sales, or grocery store environments is preferred. Basic math skills for accurate transaction processing and cash handling. Familiarity with retail math concepts to assist in inventory management and sales analysis. Proficient in phone etiquette for handling customer inquiries over the phone. Experience in merchandising techniques to create appealing displays that attract customers. Pay: $17.20-$22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
