We are seeking a dedicated and friendly Cashier to join our team in a fast-paced grocery store environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, efficiently handling transactions, and maintaining a clean and organized checkout area. This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with customers and team members.

Responsibilities

Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system to process customer transactions accurately. Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries. Handle cash transactions, including cash handling and balancing the cash register at the end of shifts. Upsell products and promote special offers to enhance sales opportunities. Assist with stocking shelves, merchandising products, and maintaining store displays. Conduct product demonstrations to engage customers and promote new items. Supervise junior staff members as needed, ensuring adherence to store policies and procedures. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the checkout area to create a welcoming environment for customers. Utilize retail math skills to manage pricing discrepancies and assist with inventory management.

Qualifications

Previous experience in cashiering or retail sales is preferred. Strong customer service skills with a friendly demeanor. Basic math skills for accurate cash handling and transaction processing. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Bilingual abilities are a plus to better serve our diverse customer base. Familiarity with grocery store operations is advantageous. Experience in merchandising, stocking, or supervising is desirable but not mandatory. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed. Pay: $15.00-$16.00 per hour
