Job Overview

We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Cashier to join our Cafe. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional customer service, handle transactions efficiently, and contribute to a positive experience. This role offers an opportunity to develop sales skills, demonstrate excellent communication, and work in a dynamic retail environment. Bilingual abilities and experience with technology sales or product demos are a plus. The Cashier will be responsible for managing cash handling, operating POS systems, and supporting merchandising efforts to enhance store presentation.

Responsibilities

Greet customers warmly and provide excellent customer service throughout their shopping experience Operate POS systems accurately for cash, credit, and mobile payments Handle cash transactions with precision, including giving change and processing refunds Assist customers with product inquiries, upselling items, and providing product demos when applicable Maintain organized checkout areas and ensure proper merchandising of products Communicate effectively with customers and team members to ensure smooth store operations Manage time efficiently during busy periods to minimize wait times Uphold phone etiquette when assisting customers via phone or online inquiries Support store organization through merchandising tasks and stock replenishment

Requirements

Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are highly desirable Able to travel: The Vintage Cafe: 16560 Hurontario street, Caledon Village Weekend Availability is an asset Familiarity with POS systems and retail technology is advantageous Excellent organizational skills and time management capabilities Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment Professional appearance and positive attitude Ability to demonstrate product demos and upsell effectively Knowledge of merchandising principles is a plus

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $17.60 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 20 per week
