Position: Caseworker - Scattered Sites Housing



Reports To: Manager of Housing

For over 26 years, Harvest House Atlantic (HHA) is a registered not for profit charity that exists to meet the needs of people who are lost, lonely, addicted, and hurting, by "Connecting people of compassion with people in need to make a difference." Our services include our Emergency Shelter, Community Centre, Addiction Recovery Programs, and Community Based Residential Programs.

As we cater to the needs of the homeless and unhoused populations, we are actively seeking a highly motivated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Housing Focused Case Worker.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES



Program Support:



Coordinates and facilitates life skills programming for program participants that includes, but is not limited to: financial literacy, employment skills, hygiene, health, food literacy, drug awareness, mental wellness, education planning, tenant's rights, first aid, etc. Provides appropriate follow-ups, monitors participant's activities. Ensures that programs are operated in accordance with the mission and values of HHA, and with applicable contract(s) and or agreements. Liaises with Police, funders, court personnel, community agencies, government assistance programs, families, and other staff members. Keeps an accurate and up-to-date record of community resources for distribution to participants. Prepares and submits monthly, quarterly, and annual statistical reports. Liaises with the participants' supervising manager, probation officer, social worker, or other community services to discuss participant's progress. Ensures the physical and psychological needs of residents are being met through programming, goal setting and life skills coaching, etc. Monitors participant's progress and maintains relevant file information as per requirements Provides practical and emotional support and advocacy as required. Occasional transportation of resident to appointments Engages in the development of inter-personal relationships that promote dignity and respect. Performs required scheduled check-ins of clientele and follow-up.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:



The successful job applicant will have completed Two (2) years of Community College, in relevant social work studies. An alternative level of education and experience may be acceptable. Experience and Skilled Knowledge preferred A minimum of one year of prior related experience, including frontline involvement in a social service environment, considered an asset

Ability to educate and/or coordinate with other providers on various life skills. Strong critical thinking and analytical skills for daily communication with clientele. Note taking and file management. Strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to identify challenges, gathering all the facts of a person's case. Strong interpersonal communication skills to engage participants and refer them to resources in the community, journeying with them on their path to wellness. Familiar with community resources. Be a team player and a person with positive thinking to develop a good working.

Job Requirement



Six months probationary

Permanent, Full Time, 40 Hours per week

Location: In-person, Moncton Area, NB

Has a Class 5 License

At least 1 year of Automobile Insurance

Has its own automobile transportation

Role Allocation: 50% in Person Client Engagement, 30% Client directed advocacy and support, 20% Administration and data entry.
