Under the supervision of the Program Manager, or designate, the Caseworker will be responsible for helping clients register and complete their applications to the Record Suspension Program and provide secondary support and relief to the Fine Option Program.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work with clients to determine eligibility for a record suspension.
Attend informational training and all workshop updates related to Records Suspension Program.
Support clients in pardons application process and submission.
Consult with various agencies such as courts, local police, and RCMP.
Help clients register and complete applications to the Record Suspension Program.
Proactively soliciting new applicants and community partnerships for these programs, including helping with information campaigns or possibly traveling to communities across Saskatchewan to meet with people who need these services.
Provide such reports, records, statistics, and budget information as may be required by the program criteria.
Maintain an appropriate and accessible filing system.
Answer the phone, direct the phone calls as needed, while ensuring client centered customer service.
Travel as required.
Fine Options Relief:
Help clients register and complete applications to the Fine Option Program.
Interview and register all persons referred to the local office under the Fine Option Program.
Proactively solicit new applicants and community partnerships.
Locate appropriate placement for program participants.
Monitor placement agencies to assure their suitability for the program, and client satisfaction.

Working knowledge of the characteristics of disadvantaged persons.
Working knowledge of Restorative Justice and Harm Reduction practices.

Excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal, and time management skills.
Exceptional writing and case management skills.
Strong verbal skills and the ability to communicate professionally.
Resourceful, flexible, and well organized.
Professional, responsive, and a positive work attitude.
Ability to make sound, timely, and accurate judgment while navigating crisis.

Must maintain a positive relationship with clients, other staff, businesses, and government agencies.
Demonstrate empathy for those impacted by the Criminal Justice System.
QUALIFICATIONS: A combination of the following:
University Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and/or minimum 2 year of practical experience working with individuals impacted by socio-economic issues including homelessness, trauma, addiction, mental health, poverty, and the child welfare system
Computer skills with emphasis on Microsoft 365 (SharePoint, Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
First Aid, ASIST, Non-violent Crisis Intervention would be considered an asset.
Preference to a person with a Valid Saskatchewan Driver's License, insurable to drive clients using JHSS-owned vehicles.
Cleared Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check, dated no later than three (3) months prior to your start date. Initial costs will be absorbed by the employee.
Requires flexibility and should be able to work varying shifts.
