The Assistant Caseworker supports the delivery of client-centered services by assisting with assessments, documentation, service coordination, and ongoing client engagement. This role works closely with caseworkers and supervisors to help clients access resources, address identified needs, and progress toward individualized goals. The position requires professionalism, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with client intake, assessments, and ongoing case documentation
Support clients in identifying needs, setting goals, and accessing appropriate services and resources
Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential client records in accordance with agency policies
Coordinate referrals and follow-up with internal teams and external service providers
Monitor client progress and communicate updates or concerns to caseworkers or supervisors
Provide direct client support using trauma-informed and client-centered approaches
Assist with crisis response, de-escalation, and problem-solving as needed
Participate in case reviews, team meetings, and required trainings
Ensure compliance with organizational policies, ethical standards, and applicable regulations
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED
Strong interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries
Ability to remain calm, organized, and effective in high-stress situations
Ability to work assigned schedules, including evenings, overnights, weekends, or holidays as required
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience in an assistant caseworker, case management, or support services role
Experience working with vulnerable or underserved populations
Training in trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, or de-escalation techniques
CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
Bilingual skills are a plus
Ability to successfully pass a police background check

Ability to respond promptly and appropriately to client needs or emergency situations
