Under the supervision of the Program Manager, or designate, the ARC Caseworker will provide direct services for hard to serve adults who are incarcerated and/or on probation orders within the community.
Duties:
Assist in providing life skills development for clients
Provide crisis intervention and behavioral support for clients involved in the justice system
Assist in case management and support for clients
Provide institutional support, work in partnership with Correctional Staff within the Correctional Facilities
Provide effective programming for clients
Role model positive behavior and encourage/support clients to practice self-help and non- violent problem-solving skills daily
Complete and maintain documentation to program standards.
Provide and connect clients with services that are risk reductive, integrated, and client oriented.
Maintain confidentiality in all aspects of job
Perform other related duties as assigned/needed
QUALIFICATIONS: A combination of the following:
Education
Secondary education from Saskatchewan Polytechnic or Community Colleges, or Bachelor's degree, in a relevant field and one (1) year of practical experience.
Practical Experience
Working knowledge and experience with individuals impacted by socio-economic issues, including: homelessness, trauma, addiction, mental health, poverty, and the child welfare system.
Working with a range of diverse clients, indiscriminate of: age, gender, sexual orientation, abilities, socio-economic status, religious preference, etc.
Capability
Computer skills with emphasis on Microsoft 365 (SharePoint, Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
First Aid, CPR, ASIST, Non-violent Crisis Intervention would be considered an asset.
Valid Saskatchewan Driver's License, insurable to drive clients in JHSS-owned vehicles.
Cleared Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check, dated no later than three (3) months prior to your start date.
Requires flexibility and should be able to work varying shifts.
