Overview
Our client is expanding their disability claims team and is seeking
experienced Case Managers
to join their growing organization. This is a
remote position based in Alberta
, offering a flexible work style and the opportunity to make a real impact in people's lives.
As a Case Manager, you will oversee
Short-Term Disability (STD)
and
Long-Term Disability (LTD)
claims from start to finish. This includes adjudicating new claims, developing treatment and rehabilitation plans, and supporting successful return-to-work outcomes. You'll also work closely with healthcare providers, employers, and internal teams to ensure claims are handled efficiently, fairly, and with empathy.
What You Will Do
Adjudicate Short-Term and Long-Term Disability claims
, ensuring compliance with policies and
Canadian Life and Health Insurance Association (CLHIA)
guidelines.
Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized
treatment, rehabilitation, and return-to-work plans
.
Ensure timely and accurate
benefit payments
.
Maintain
clear, professional communication
with claimants, healthcare providers, and employers.
Act as a
subject matter expert
for assigned groups and manage your portfolio independently.
Collaborate with internal teams including underwriting, sales, administration, and accounting to align on claims activities.
What You Bring
A
degree or diploma in a health-related field
such as Nursing, Kinesiology, Rehabilitation Medicine, or Social Work (asset).
Prior experience in
disability case management
or claims adjudication.
Knowledge of the
insurance and group benefits industry
is an asset.
Strong analytical and decision-making skills, especially under pressure.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Ability to work independently while contributing as a
collaborative team player
.
Assets:
CDMP designation, enrollment in LOMA or related industry courses.
