Under the general direction of the Ontario Works Program Manager, the Case Aide will provide support to clients and the general public in a caring and respectful manner in accordance with CDSB policies and procedures and CDSB Vision and Values.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF POSITION
Complete intake application by phone, in person, or on-line
Receive ODSP application for Discretionary Benefits
Respond to inquiries from clients and general public
Receive and provide information and documents from clients
Responsible for scheduling new appointments for, and assigning cases to, Case Managers
Accept and process payments for OW, Childcare and Housing
Process Northern Health Travel Grants
Complete intake for funerals
Perform reception and filing function
Compile statistics and reports as necessary
Assign physical and electronic files to appropriate staff (ie. EVP, applications)
Complete 3rd party information requests
Complete electronic and physical file transfers (in/out of District)
Monitor work queues and transfers tasks as appropriate
Process and update Housing applications
Provide clerical support
Back-up for other case aides/clerks
Participate as a member of the team
Other related duties as assigned

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Excellent writing, communication and customer service skills
Demonstrated ability in word processing and spreadsheet software
General knowledge of privacy laws and an understanding on the need to maintain client confidentiality
Working knowledge of the full range of programs and services delivered by the CDSB including; Ontario Works, Childcare, Social Housing and EMS
Knowledge of Social Assistance, Childcare and Housing technology or software
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Two-year diploma in office administration or business administration with related experience OR a combination of education/experience acceptable to the employer
Relevant experience in the area of social services
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Satisfactory criminal records check
Use of a vehicle may be required
Must maintain a valid driver's license
Travel may be required
Out-of-office work required
Must maintain confidentiality
Bilingualism in accordance with the French Language Services policy
