Royal City General Contracting Inc is offering the right candidate an apprenticeship or to continue an apprenticeship. You'd be training under Red Seal carpenter with 18 years of experience. We are a small company that focuses mostly on large renovations and some new construction projects. Quality or over quantity is our philosophy. We take on almost all portions of the job usually only subbing out electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and few other tasks. Tasks include but aren't limited to framing, drywall, flooring (tile, hardwood, vinyl, etc.), trim and doors, painting, and most importantly keeping a clean and tidy work site!

We are looking for the best and brightest. Candidate must be a fast learner with excellent problem solving skills.

Two scenarios of candidates we would be willing to take below:

We are looking for someone who has completed a college program, preferably renovation technician or similar 2 year program. Must have diploma in program, will mot consider someone who couldn't even complete the program.

Someone with atleast 2 years experience in a full multi skilled (trim, flooring, tile, drywall) renovation or carpentry position not just a laborer. This person would know how to trim; install casing, install baseboard (coping and scribing), hang doors, etc. Must have excellent finishing skills, thorough, and an eye for detail.

Candidate must be hardworking and able to keep busy at all times whether that finding a new task to do or picking up a broom and tidying up. Candidate must act and present professionally during work hours as you represent the company.

Responsibilities include assisting in small to large renovation projects, candidates should be able to work alone when necessary. Job requirements also include strong math skills, and must be fluent in english. Punctuality and initiative are a must, if you are calling in sick once a week or showing up late on a regular basis this job is not for you. Candidate should have a valid G license and their own transportation (all jobs in Guelph and surrounding area) and have their own set of hand tools (a list of required tools will be discussed on hiring), power tools will be supplied by employer.

Starting wages will be based on experience, skill level, schooling (ie Carpenter ticket) and what the person brings to the table. Starting wage is $20-32 but with room to go higher for talented and motivated employees. Hours are 8-4 Mon- Fri (35-40 hours) normally. If interested please send resume.
