Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Hand to oversee and coordinate construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various aspects of carpentry and construction, with the ability to lead a team effectively. This role requires hands-on experience in the field, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate daily activities of construction crews to ensure projects are completed on time and within specifications. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to guide work processes. Perform various carpentry tasks including frame carpentry, trim carpentry, cabinet installation, door hanging, and fixture installation. Utilize hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for various construction tasks. Ensure compliance with safety regulations on the construction site while promoting a safe working environment. Train and mentor team members in construction techniques and best practices. Assist with heavy lifting and physical labor as required on-site. Conduct quality control checks to ensure all work meets industry standards. Collaborate with project managers to provide input on project timelines and resource allocation.

Qualifications

Proven experience in the construction industry with a focus on carpentry and restoration work. Strong knowledge of construction estimating, manufacturing processes, and restoration industry practices. Familiarity with flooring installation, tile laying, plumbing, electrical experience, masonry, mold remediation, caulking, and drywall installation is preferred. Ability to operate CNC machinery for fabrication tasks is a plus. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot issues as they arise on-site. Strong leadership abilities with experience managing teams effectively in a fast-paced environment. Physical stamina for heavy lifting and long hours on your feet is essential. A valid driver's license may be required for transportation to job sites. Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 - 45 per week
