We are currently looking for a
Skilled Carpenter
to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone who is experienced, hands-on, and flexible enough to assist with tasks beyond carpentry when required.
Job Summary:
As a Skilled Carpenter at WINMAR Kamloops, you will perform a wide range of carpentry tasks on restoration and reconstruction projects. In addition to carpentry duties, you will support general site activities, including demolition, cleanup, and assisting other trades to help ensure successful project completion.
Key Responsibilities:
Execute rough and finish carpentry including framing, doors, trim, cabinetry, and flooring.
Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications accurately.
Perform drywall patching, minor painting, and other touch-up tasks as needed.
Assist with demolition, debris removal, and general labor duties on-site.
Support team members and subcontractors across various trades.
Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean job site.
Follow all WINMAR safety policies and procedures.
Provide excellent customer service and represent WINMAR professionally on every job.
Qualifications:
3+ years of carpentry experience (residential and/or light commercial).
Strong knowledge of tools, materials, and methods used in carpentry and construction.
Able to adapt and help with non-carpentry tasks as needed.
Comfortable working in restoration environments, including water/fire-damaged properties.
Excellent communication skills and a team-player mindset.
Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
Nice to Have:
Experience in property restoration or insurance-based construction.
IICRC certification(s) or familiarity with restoration protocols.
Own set of hand and power tools.
First Aid or safety certifications (e.g., Fall Protection, WHMIS).
