Currently we are in need of experienced and dedicated General/Skilled Carpenter to join the Victoria team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is looking for experience in the rewarding field of high rise building with one of BC's most respected and proven developers. General Duties & Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

• light and heavy duties, back framing, door & hardware install, blocking, backing, hoarding, handrails, misc. formwork
• cleaning, organizing materials, maintaining cut room & tool organization
• Take measurements and calculate the size & amount of material needed
• Cut, shape and smooth lumber and other materials according to measurements
• Willing to work overtime hours to make deadlines
• Perform other activities at construction sites, as directed by supervisors
• Create and maintain a safe, clean and neat work environment, tidy work space before end of each shift
  
  Skills and Requirements:
• Knowledge and experience working in high rise construction is an asset
• Knowledge of various tools and equipment as well as materials and methods of construction are required
• Ability to problem solve, prioritize tasks and work independently
• A high commitment to personal safety and the safety of others
• Able to effectively communicate with all types of staff, including laborers, technical, professional, and upper
  management
• Commitment to working in a team environment, with established team building abilities;
• Strong communication, leadership, integration, problem-solving and interpersonal skills;
• Must have own steel toe boots
• Must be comfortable working outside in all types of weather conditions
• We are willing to provide training to the right candidate
• Wages are ultimately determined by skill level, competitive wages and benefit packages available for hourly
  workers

Successful candidate will be required to provide official documentation confirming receipt of two (2) doses of a COVID-19 vaccine, as recognized for use in Canada, prior to starting employment. Continued employment will be conditional on receiving, and providing confirmation of, any additional “booster” vaccine doses, as recommended by the Ministry of Health & Provincial Health Officer. Exceptions based on medical, religious or other valid grounds will be considered on a case by case basis.
