Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our carpentry team.

The Position encompasses a wide range of tasks, from construction and repair to joinery work.

The ideal candidate will be proficient in both residential and commercial carpentry, and

committed to delivering high-quality construction work.

Key Responsibilities

Interpreting blueprints

Measuring, cutting, shaping, and smoothing lumber and other construction materials.

Constructing building frameworks including walls, floors, and doorframes.

Ensuring structures are level, square, and securely assembled.

Installing features such as doors, cabinets, stairs, and paneling.

Inspecting and replacing damaged frameworks or other structures and fixtures.

Managing construction materials, tools, and equipment.

Maintaining a safe and clean work environment by adhering to safety and health regulations.

Common Tasks and Duties

In addition to overarching responsibilities, the successful candidate must perform specific tasks

that crucially support the integrity and progress of the project:

Operating tools and machinery such as saws, drills, and sanders.

Ensure accurate installation of structures.

Collaborating with other construction professionals such as electricians, plumbers, and

architects to ensure specifications are met.

Modifying building materials and creating custom cabinetry or other detailed architectural or

furniture items.

Education and Certification Requirements

Completion of a carpentry apprenticeship program or vocational training in carpentry or related

experience.

Certifications like the Certified Journeyman Carpenter credential

Several years of experience working under seasoned carpenters can be beneficial

Boatbuilding experience an asset

Job Title: Carpenter

Work Environment: This job typically involves outdoor work at construction site. This role

requires physical stamina for manual labour.

Reporting Structure: Reports to the Carpenter Supervisor

Salary: Salary is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and

business considerations.

Pay Range: $50,000 minimum to $58,500,000 maximum
