We are currently seeking seasonal, full time

Carpenter

for our Municipal Division. The work will be in Edmonton and surrounding area.

What is the role?

Constructs built-in-place or prefabricated wooden and/or metal forms, according to specifications, for molding concrete structures such as: piers, footers, retaining walls, abutments, parapets, caps, columns and bridge decks Saws lumber per blueprint dimensions, using handsaw or power saw, and nail lumber together to make form panels Lifts and handles built-in-place forms and/or assembles, erects and installs prefabricated forms Inserts spreaders and ties rods between opposite faces of form to maintain specified dimensions Anchors and braces forms to fixed objects, using nails, bolts, anchor rods, steel cables and planks Pours concrete informs and desks which requires vibrating, shoveling and raking and also assists cement finishers Able to understand and follow blueprints Miscellaneous rebar tying Other duties as assigned

What do we value?

Class 5 Drivers license with a clean driving record 2+ years minimum construction experience; Heavy civil/Industrial/Commercial experience is preferred Journeyman Carpenter Ticket is preferred First Aid and Fall protection training is an asset Physically fit and able to do physically demanding work for extended period Good team player Able to understand and follow directions
