The carpenter is responsible for constructing and maintaining buildings.


Required knowledge includes construction and remodeling trades, practices, procedures, techniques, tools and equipment, materials, specifications, quality control, cost control and safety.


The carpenter must be proficient at the following tasks: hanging doors, drilling and setting door hardware, setting windows, layout for stairs and common rafters, formwork, and reading blueprints. The carpenter must also possess the mathematical and analytical skills necessary to do materials estimates.

Qualifications



Experienced with a large general contractor Minimum 5 years of formwork experience Current journeyman carpenter's certificate: Red Seal is an asset Valid EWP and fall protection tickets are a plus The carpenter is responsible for setting/placing/stripping of all formed surfaces. The carpenter must be proficient at the following tasks: loose and gang form walls, suspended slab, flatwork, water retaining structures, architectural exposed, stairs, formwork, and reading blueprints. The carpenter must also possess the mathematical and analytical skills necessary to do materials estimates. Prior experience in concrete formwork, foundations, or structural concrete work (typically 1-3 years minimum depending on level). Knowledge of measuring, cutting, assembling, and installing formwork for concrete pours. Skill in setting forms for footings, walls, slabs, cores and columns. Experience using hand tools, power tools, and formwork hardware safely and efficiently. As the last step in the recruitment process, selected candidates will be required to undergo a pre-employment physical testing screen to assess their ability to perform the essential functions of the job. This step ensures a safe and effective work environment for all employees.
