Carpenter Job#JCL051
JCL is currently accepting applications for Carpenters for work on Bridges and Marine Infrastructure (breakwater, wharfs, dredging, bank protection, etc). Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of tasks including setting forms, pour and vibrate concrete, finish concrete, strip forms in a safe manner.
• Undertaking the layout (selecting materials, planning sequences and methods of work, measuring and marking materials to avoid costly mistakes or omissions)
• Reading blueprints
• Assists other workers with general labour activities when required.
• Work with a variety of hand tools, power tools and equipment used in building and concrete construction.
• Other general carpentry activities as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

• Certified Journeyperson Ticket or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
• Experience working on Bridges or Marine Infrastructure would be an asset.
• Knowledge of the safe operation of equipment and tools.
• The ability to solve math problems quickly and accurately.
• The ability to get along well with others on a work team.
• Must be willing to work in remote job locations.
• Must have a strong understanding of safety procedures and policies on an industrial job site.
• Must possess a valid class 5 driver\xe2\x80\x99s license or above with a clean driver\xe2\x80\x99s abstract.
• High attention to detail, strong communication skills, and ability to follow directions.
• Must be able to work collaboratively in a team and independently with little supervision.
