We are currently looking for a reliable individual to help on sites with a wide variety of tasks, including demolition, clean-up, framing, drywall installation, and more. Lift, sort and move materials on the construction site. Operate basic power tools and/or equipment, as assigned If you feel you are a good fit and have as a minimum the following qualifications, please forward us your cover letter and resume:
Undertake framing carpentry and finishing carpentry
Installation of doors, windows, associated hardware, and trim, both in retrofit and new construction situations
Roof design and construction - truss and hand cut.
Stair design and construction - open and closed riser
Deck and railing construction
Maintenance and organization of all tools and equipment.
Always keeping a clean and safe work site.
Accurately completing all required record-keeping forms and logs.
Promote teamwork and offer ideas and solutions as required.
Learn and apply safe work practices (proper use of equipment, personal protection safeguards, OHS regulations, fire and emergency procedures, WHMIS hazardous materials)
Immediately communicate any observations of on-site issues related to health and safety and/or preventative maintenance to your Supervisor, Manager, or appropriate designated staff.
Eventually be capable of undertaking smaller design and building projects as you progress through the apprenticeship program.
Must have the ability to lift 50+ lbs. and walk for extended periods.
Must enjoy working outdoors in all weather conditions
Qualifications and Experience Requirements:
Minimum OSSD Diploma and current enrollment in a post-secondary
General Carpentry Apprenticeship (403A) program would be an asset.
Knowledge of common construction/carpentry practices, techniques and tools.
Applicants must demonstrate good written and verbal communication skills.
Other certifications such as Working at Heights, First Aid, Fall Arrest and WHMIS would be an asset and training is provided.
Possess a valid Ontario class 'G' driver's license
Enjoy working outdoors, sometimes in adverse conditions
Must be available to work out of town during the week.
Working Conditions:
Hours of work generally fall between 7:30 am - 5:00 pm, with a half-hour unpaid lunch based on a 40-hour work week, Monday through Friday. Work outside of these hours may be required on occasion.

Pay: $26.00-$28.00 per hour
