DESCRIPTION:

Under the direction and leadership of the Lead hand, the Carpenter assumes responsibility for all general carpentry duties required on commercial scope construction projects. They will ensure work tasks are performed safely in accordance with Occupational Health and Safety Legislation and company policies and that work is performed with a high level of quality and timeliness.

Working Conditions:

Working indoors in production plant Full time work week Overtime as required Working in and around noise and dust

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Installation of exterior & interior doors Interior & exterior framing Installation of cabinets & countertops Installation of baseboards, casings, and trim Minor roofing Drywall Ensure all safety codes are followed and proper safety attire is always worn Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Must be apprentice or journeyperson CSTS-0.9/20, WHMIS 2015, and Standard First Aid an asset Ability to take direction and follow through on instructions General construction safety knowledge Committed dedication to safety; reflected in practice and experience Strong focus on customer satisfaction Strong attention to detail Ability to work independently in a demanding environment A team player with strong people skills Support a culture that encompasses the highest ethical standards Fall protection certification considered an asset

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand, walk, crouch, and kneel for long periods of time Ability to wear PPE at all times while on shift Ability to lift up to 25kg Climbing stairs/ladders regularly Exposure to hazards such as heights, power tools, slips, falls, falling objects, and sharp hand tools

Pay: $20.00-$35.00 per hour
