Under the Direction of the Building Manager, and within the Mission, Vision, Values, Objectives of the Bethania Group, the Caretaker will maintain a clean and safe building as well as to ensure the safety and well-being of the residents of 529 Country Club
Qualifications
WHIMIS training
Grade 12 or equivalent
Good interpersonal skills
3 years of maintenance and cleaning experience
Key Responsibilities include:
Daily Duties
Look after the welfare of all residents - by responding to maintenance emergency calls
To be on call every other week
Must be courteous to staff, tenants and/or families at all times
Clean front lobby doors and windows
Clean lint filters in laundry rooms
Empty garbage containers and take out main garbage bin for collection
Empty recycling containers
Clean and sanitize elevators and the door tracks on each floor
Water and tend plants and gardens
Ensure entry areas are clear of ice and/or snow
Perform security/safety check of building and property
Help the building manager to maintain inventory of janitorial supplies
Weekly Duties
Vacuum all hallway and common area floors, dust railings, window ledges, door frames, etc
Vacuum and dust second floor office
Monthly Duties
Sweep stairways
Wash exterior and interior main floor windows, weather permitting
Check emergency lighting
Inspect fire hoses and fire extinguishers on each floor.
Outside Maintenance
Clear snow from entrance and exit doors, front driveway and parking areas
Sweep in front of entry and exit doors (all seasons)
Cut and trim grass
Patrol outside grounds daily to pick up garbage, glass and other debris. Inspect for any damage.
Ongoing Maintenance
Clean suites for turn over
Maintain and repair building grounds and equipment
Change light bulbs
Check oil locks and hardware
Troubleshooting and perform minor repairs on plumbing systems
Minor appliance repairs
Ensure boiler, electrical and workshop areas are clean, safe and up to code
Inform the building manager of the status of the supplies
Respond in a timely manner to all repairs request from tenants and/or families
Clean vents in kitchen, laundry area and apartments
Set up and take down tables and chairs for special events and programed activities
Successful candidates must provide a current (within the last year) Criminal Record Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check.
