The Personal Support Worker (PSW) provides high-quality, compassionate care to clients in accordance with their individualized care plans and established organizational standards. This role supports clients' physical, emotional, spiritual, and psychological well-being, ensuring comfort, dignity, and safety at all times.
Key Responsibilities
Personal Care & Support
Provide personal care in alignment with the client's care plan and within the provincial PSW scope of practice.
Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, skin and hair care, oral hygiene, toileting, bowel and bladder care, positioning, mobility support, and exercises.
Provide feeding assistance, including support with special diets, and offer medication reminders and oxygen administration assistance as directed.
Perform specialized, client-specific procedures as assigned, ensuring appropriate training and current competency.
Client Observation & Reporting
Observe, monitor, and document client conditions accurately in accordance with company standards.
Report any changes in condition, unusual events, or safety concerns to the immediate Supervisor or Office promptly.
Maintain strict confidentiality of client information, sharing details only with authorized personnel.
Safety & Infection Prevention
Apply infection prevention and control practices consistently.
Follow all organizational Health & Safety policies and participate in proactive safety initiatives.
Identify and report any risks or hazards to the Supervisor.
Professional Development & Quality Assurance
Participate in ongoing internal and external education and training opportunities.
Adhere to all WoodsLake policies, procedures, and quality standards.
Contribute to continuous improvement activities in alignment with the company's Quality Management System.
Other Duties
Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned to support client care and organizational operations.

Ideal Candidate and Qualifications
Certification as a Personal Support Worker through a recognized College or educational institution is an asset but not necessary.
Must demonstrate a commitment to resident safety by providing quality care in accordance with the organization's mission and vision;
Experience in Long-Term Care setting is preferred;
Must demonstrate good communication skills;
Must demonstrate an active interest in ongoing education;
This position is for 24h care. There are three 8h shifts in 24h.
