About the Role

As an Intervener, you will work one-on-one with a client who is deaf and non-verbal, helping them navigate daily life and participate in meaningful activities. This role focuses on support, companionship, and communication assistance, not personal caregiving.

You'll receive thorough training on how to communicate effectively, understand the client's preferences, and use simple strategies to ensure comfort, safety, and connection.

Key Responsibilities

Support the client with day-to-day routines and activities (e.g., outings, appointments, light household tasks). Use visual aids, gestures, and alternative communication methods to interact and engage with the client. Encourage independence, social interaction, and community involvement. Provide a safe, supportive, and respectful environment at all times. Communicate regularly with the Care Manager for updates and guidance. Requirements

A caring, patient, and reliable personality - that's what matters most! A reliable personal vehicle (required for outings). Ability to work some evening or weekend hours, depending on the client's needs. A current Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening (within the last year). A negative TB test (within the last two years).
