Acclaim Health announces the availability of one (1) Full-Time Clinical Educator, Nursing position working in the Home Care department. As a key member of the Home Care team, the Clinical Nursing Educator is responsible for the clinical education, orientation, and mentorship of nursing staff. This role involves both in-office training and direct community support, ensuring adherence to CNO and the organization's standards and policies. The incumbent will work Monday - Friday from 8:30am to 5:00pm.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:
Clinical Education: Deliver in-person training sessions at various locations and at head office, providing nurses with tools and knowledge needed to excel in their roles as community nurses.
Orientation and Preceptorship: Organize and oversee comprehensive orientation programs, ensuring new nursing staff receive effective onboarding and ongoing support.
Policy Development: Efficiently create and update policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) aligned with the organization's goals and regulatory requirements.
Initiative Setting: Develop, implement, and monitor educational initiatives tailored to the unique needs of our nursing staff and client populations.
Follow-Up and Support: Regularly check in with nursing staff post-orientation to assess their progress and provide additional support where needed.
Educational Framework Development: Design a robust educational framework that address the learning requirements from pediatrics to all age groups, enhancing clinical skills and competencies.
Collaboration: Work in partnership with the Ontario Health at Home to provide ongoing education and resources for nursing staff.
Specialize Knowledge: Apply expertise in tracheostomy and ventilator care, with a preference for candidates possessing additional qualifications in pediatric nursing.
Coaching and Certification: Serve as a GPA coach and CPR coach (training is available); certification in palliative care (such as CNA) is preferred, or a strong knowledge base in palliative care is essential.
QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION:
Baccalaureate Degree or equivalent with experience.
Valid Ontario driver's license, use of vehicle and insurance per the Acclaim Health policy.
Certification as a GPA coach and CPR coach preferred
CNA certification in palliative care preferred
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
Minimum 3 to 5 years of clinical leadership experience, or similar position within a home care or healthcare setting.
Strong understanding of the nursing process and standards of practice across various age groups.
Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate nursing staff.
Willingness to travel for in-person training and support.
Demonstrated experience in teaching/mentoring skills
Strong planning, coordinating and organizing skills
Demonstrated knowledge and skills in quality/risk management.
Proven ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, AlayaCare and Health Partner Gateway
Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team member.
Familiarity with tracheostomy and ventilator care
Familiar with reporting and documentation for OHaH
Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
